How are you different from other Bible agencies?
Some focus on translation work, others on publishing and others on distribution. Bible League International does all of these things, but its focus is on planting God's Word so it takes root and changes lives, families and communities. We use a unique ministry model to ensure Bibles are in translations that are easily understood and placed with new believers and those who need to know Christ. We work through local churches and other Christian organisations providing Bibles, Bible study materials and training.
What denomination is Bible League International?
We are a nondenominational organisation. We work with many religious denominations around the world. We are a member of the United States National Association of Evangelicals and share their statement of faith.
Do you partner with other organisations?
Yes. We recently merged with World Bible Translation Center. We are two like-minded organisations with complementary missions that combined operations to expand our efforts globally. We also work with local churches, mission organisations and religious denominations worldwide. We provide them with Bibles and other religious materials as well as evangelism and church planting training.
Do you translate Scriptures?
Yes, when we merged with the WBTC we gained translation services. WBTC has translated the Bible into easy-to-read versions in 30 of the world's most popular languages; its goal is to translate the Bible into the top 100 languages that will cover 95% of the world's population.
How do you work in countries where Christians are persecuted?
With the support of generous donors around the world, we partner with local churches and other Christian organisations. We provide them with an increasing variety of progammes and Christian materials.
What version of the Bibles do you use?
The issues about English versions of the Bible are not relevant for most of our ministries because less than 10 percent of the Bibles we provide each year are in English. There is no such thing as a foreign language translation of the different versions we are used to seeing. World Bible Translation Center (WBTC), a ministry of Bible League International focuses on translating Scriptures from the Greek and Hebrew into versions that are easily understood. The English version of this translation is called "easy-to-read" or ERV, but it is called by other names in other languages, such as La Palabra de Dios para Todos (Word of God for All) in Spanish.
Where do you print Bibles?
We work with printers from all over the world and consider a number of issues when choosing where to print Bibles. For example, if we are able to print Bibles within the country receiving them, the cost and shipping times, customs and other factors can be reduced or eliminated. Quality and durability are also considerations in choosing a printer.
